​Nigeria’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, has secured his place among the elite three-man final shortlist for the prestigious 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the highly anticipated finalists on Sunday, setting the stage for a showdown at the awards ceremony in Rabat, Morocco.
​Osimhen, who won the coveted prize in 2023, faces stiff competition from two of the continent’s most decorated stars: Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain).
In the women’s version, Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade was also part of the shortlist for the prize.
She will contend with Morocco’s duo of Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy.
