A Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered Abdullahi Iskilu Wakili, an alleged Fulani ‘warlord’ be remanded in a correctional facility.

Wakili was initially arrested by some members of the O’odua Peoples Congress (OPC), for allegedly terrorising Igangan, in Ibarapa North Local Government, Oyo State. However, he was later released by the Oyo State Police Command, describing the arrest as unconstitutional.

Meanwhile, the police has now charged Wakili alongside his sons Abu, 45; and Samaila, 27; as well as Aliyu Manu, 20; with six count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Magistrate Idowu, of the Iyagan Magistrate Court ordered that the suspects be remanded in Abolongo Correctional facility in Oyo State, pending the determination of the suit against them.

The Magistrate also ordered the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution.

The case was also adjourned till May 17.
