The Campaign for Democracy (CD) has issued a 14- day ultimatum to the Federal Government to fire Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Lawal Musa Daura, for accusing theĀ  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), of being responsible for the killing of five Fulani herdsmen and two other Igbos in Abia State.

In a statement in Onitsha, Anambra State, the National Publicity Secretary of CD, Dede Uzor.A. Uzor, described Daura’s allegation as false, having been investigated byĀ  Governors Rochas Okorocha and Okezie Ikpeazu of Imo and Abia states after which it was discovered that the herdsmen were actually killed by some kidnappers who were on the rampage in some parts of AbiaĀ  and not IPOB or MASSOB members, as alleged by Daura.

Uzor said, the 14-day ultimatum given to Daura was imperative because his allegation wasĀ  inciting and volatile and capable of leading to ethnic upheaval between Hausa and Igbo.

ā€œAs a security expert, Daura should have known that such an unguarded allegation was capable of causing more problems between the two. To us, Daura is not a respecter of the law since he had continuously disobeyed court orders with respect to the detained leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, and former Chief Security Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasukiā€, the statement said.
