Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara stepped into his home church for the first time since his official reinstatement.

This is as Fubara urged congregants to bolster his administration with fervent prayers following a fresh chapter of governance.

Accompanied by his wife, Valerie Fubara, and a cadre of key stakeholders, the governor worshipped at Saint John’s Anglican Church, Opobo Town, his hometown within the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.

Fubara, while addressing the congregation, emphasised that leadership demands not only human efforts but divine guidance, which can only be sustained through consistent prayers.

He said: “We won’t have survived it without your prayers.

“When my story ends, it is this church that will lead me to my next set of journeys.

“This coming to worship here is necessary today.”

He called on Rivers people and Nigerians at large to continue to support him with prayers, assuring that such spiritual backing was crucial to the success of his administration.

The New Diplomat reports that this comes after President Bola Tinubu lifted emergency rule in Rivers State, paving the way for Fubara to resume his duties as the Governor of the State.
