Ajegunle Visionary Foundation (AVF), a charity organisation recently took to Ajegunle, located in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos state to distribute bags and uniforms to less privileged students.

In continuation of its philanthropic quest, the foundation went to the Local Authority Primary School Ogbowankwo in Ajegunle, as part of its efforts to improve the lives of residents in Ajegunle-Apapa and its environs.

During the event which was held on Thursday October 21st 2021, the President, AVF, Mr Adebowale Ogungbure, who was represented by Augustine Uwandu stated in his welcome speech that the foundation was founded by a group of like-minds who grew up in the Ajegunle suburbs, interested in giving back to the community that shaped their childhood experience.

He noted that the foundation had embarked on several projects in the past three months, which are aimed at improving the livelihood of residents in Ajegunle and its environs.

Speaking further, Ogungbure noted that the foundation identified the need to distribute bags and uniforms to students in the Local Authority Primary School, which prompted them to began all necessary steps and actions.

In his words: “I feel honoured to welcome you all to this function which is in line with our collective objectives of improving the lots of Ajegunle-Apapa and its environs.

“Our Organization is an indigenous Charity organization borne out of the desire to provide assistance to a number of less privileged in Ajegunle with focus on Ajeromi Ifelodun Constituency.

“Our organization comprises of a number of young men who grew up in that part of town and now doing well in their various field across different part of the world. Exco members in attendance are Austine Olisah and Augustine Uwandu.

“We have in the last couple of months embarked on a number of projects to alleviate the plight of the down trodden in our neighborhood to the delight of all. We provided food items for a number of residents during the lock down and have also carried out an health awareness initiative for over 200 residents aside other support we have provided to individuals with various health challenges in time past.

“Having visited one of the schools in our neighborhood we identified a need and thus informed the need to distribute about 226 school bags and Uniform to pupils in Local Authority Primary School Ogbowankwo Ajegunle and parents of these pupils are here to attend the event which we trust would be colourful following the publication that we have given this program both via social media and print media.”

The head teacher , Local Authority Primary, Mrs. Onwubiko A, in her remarks appreciated the foundation for deeming it fit to lift the burden of parents of the students in the school by providing school bags and uniforms which are essential. The highlight of the occasion was the hand over of the items by the Executive Chairman Hon. Ayoola of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government who was ably represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Lucky Uduikhe who supervised the presentation ceremony to the Executive Secretary of the School Management Board Authority of the local government.

Also speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary thanked the foundation for the initiative and reminded them that there are about 71 primary schools in The local government and that it would be nice to extend the hand of fellowship to others so long their resources can accommodate. The exco members present, the duo of Austine Olisah and Augustine Uwandu assured that the request would be taken back to the foundation for consideration.

A numbers of parents and pupils spoke expressing their appreciation of the gesture and pray for God to bless all members of the foundation.
