Two months after the death of Prof. Grace Alele-Williams, another former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Osayuki Godwin Oshodin has passed away at the age of 71.

A statement in Benin, Sunday by Mr. Christopher Oshodin on behalf of the family disclosed that the sad incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, May 29th,2022 in Benin City, Edo state after a brief illness.

The death of Oshodin, a professor of Health Education at the institution comes on the heels of the death of another former Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Grace Alele-Williams who died on March 25, 2022, at the age of 89.

The brother said that the death was a time of grief for the children and the larger Oshodin family of Benin as they mourn his sudden death.

The statement added that the family will very soon release details of his burial arrangement just as they pray to God to comfort those he left behind.

Born on August 9, 1950, the erudite scholar was Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN from 2009 to 2014.
