Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, a former pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the United States, has reportedly arrived Ogbomoso, Oyo State, for his coronation as the new Soun of Ogbomoso land.

Last week Saturday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had congratulated Prince Olaoye as the Soun-elect.

“His Excellency congratulates the new Soun-elect on his ascension to the throne of his forebears,” a statement issued by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola, said.

Prince Olaoye was said to have arrived in the early morning in a private chopper at the open field of Ogbomoso Grammar School where he proceeded to the palace.

The throne became vacant since December 12, 2021 after the passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade Ill.

Oba Oyewumi ascended to the throne on October 24, 1973, and ruled for 48 years.

Prince Olaoye pastored the Jesus House Parish, Washington DC.
