Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Kenneth Minimah (retd.), has praised Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the smooth conduct of the local government elections held on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

In a congratulatory message to the governor, a copy of which was shared with reporters in Uyo on Sunday, Minimah commended Fubara’s determination to ensure the successful completion of the elections, calling the outcome a significant achievement for the state.

He encouraged the governor to stay committed to advancing the state’s development and urged politicians to prioritize the well-being of the people, placing the needs of their constituents above all other considerations.

“I wish to praise Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the seamless conduct of the local government elections and his resolve in ensuring the elections took place.

“The outcome of the election is a significant milestone for the state. Fubara has been steering the ship, and I urge him to remain resolute in driving development.

“This development and the successful local government elections signify Governor Fubara’s administration’s commitment to the people at the grassroots.”
