The international governing body of association of football, governing body FIFA has sent birthday wishes to former Super Eagles winger Finidi George.

According to news reports, Finidi turned 49 years on Wednesday.

FIFA sent their wishes via their verified Twitter handle with a video of Finidi’s clever chip goal against Greece, at the 1994 World Cup.

Happy birthday, Finidi George!” FIFA wrote.Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Finidi played for Calabar Rovers, Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland) and Sharks.

Finidi joined Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in 1993 and scored 18 goals after 85 appearances before departing for Real Betis in 1996.

During his time at Ajax,  Finidi won the Eredivisie title, Johan Cruyff Shield, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the now defunct Intercontinental Cup.

Finidi also featured in leapswich Town in the Premier League and Mallorca in the LaLiga.He made his Super Eagles debut in 1991, in a 1992 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burkina Faso, providing three assists to

Rashidi Yekini and scoring once in a 7–1 routHe was part of the Eagles squad that won the 1994 AFCON and also achieved one second (Ghana/Nigeria 2000) and two third-place finishing- Senegal1992, and Mali 2002).

Also, he made the squad to the USA 1994 and France 1998 World Cups, scoring in the former.
