The federal government, has said that the welfare of workers remains its priority.

The Head of the Service of the Federation (HoSF), Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, made the position of the federal government on civil servants known at a town hall meeting with members of staff at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) Abuja.
She charged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to build capacity of staff, with a view to ensuring effective service delivery.

According to Oyo-Ita, the federal government was committed to improving the welfare of workers.

She listed the areas of such improvement as transportation, training and payment of outstanding entitlements to enable them function efficiently.

She enjoined workers on the need to have a positive mindset towards rendering service to the citizens by being Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and Citizen Centered (EPIC) in line with her vision for the civil service
