Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Mr Babatunde Fashola has finally commenced moves to fix the horrible Benin-Sapele-Warri expressway that has been in a state of disrepair for a while.
The Federal Government (FG) resolved to undertake repairs work on the ever busy a few days back.
Recall that the very terrible state of the Benin-Sapele-Warri expressway has been a source of concern to many road users, motorists and people of the Niger Delta region who experience the horrific death traps at various spots on the ever busy road stretching from the Benin City end through Ologbo, Oghara, Sapele bridges and the outskirts of Warri.
Recall that during a debate on the floor of the Senate, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege had bemoaned the terrible state of the road, canvassing urgent repairs to save valuable life and properties.

The New Diplomat checks indicate that based on impactful engagements between the Deputy Senate President who represents Delta Central Senatorial zone, Omo-Agege and the Minister of Works, Fashola, the road would soon wear a new face-look.
A statement by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Omo-Agege on Media and Publicity, the Federal Ministry of Works has started finalising operational moves to undertake major repairs on this major national road.
Omo-Agege who applauded Fashola for his prompt and decisive response, and understanding on” the need to urgently overcome the obvious and very serious challenges that the present state of the road poses to citizens” also urged citizens to continue to align with the vision of the government.

Recall that the poor condition of that national major expressway has been a source of worry to many as it has lead to several vehicular accidents.
