…Says Omo-Agege’s unbeaten records of developments cannot be compared to Oborevwori’s wasted years in office.

United States based lawyer and Leader of Delta State Support group in Diaspora, Dr Felix O. Okpe, on Thursday, berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa Over failed development projects in Isiokolo and Agbon communities in Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Okpe, who decried the poor state of economic and educational developments in the region as well as PDP’s neglect to upgrade the Agbon Teachers College to a College of Education.

While recommending the candidacy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State, Senator Omo-Agege, CFR, Okpe also noted that the senator’s EDGE agenda would attract foreign investments from around the globe.

”Omo-Agege’s manifesto immensely underscores his passion and the promise of a new Delta anchored on creating employment, development and good governance”, he said.

Read the full statement below;

I call upon all citizens and residents of Isiokolo community and indeed all Agbon sons and daughters to support and vote for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for Governor of Delta State in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

Senator Omo-Agege is the only candidate in the governorship race with a concrete record of performance, capacity, and experience to rescue Delta State from years of socio-economic decay perpetuated by the PDP and Okowa administration.

The PDP and the Okowa administration have failed in Delta State and Ethiope East LGA. The LG headquarters at Isiokolo, has been ignored by successive PDP administrations. The Okowa administration neglected the upgrading of the Agbon Teachers College to a College of Education. A College of Education at Isiokolo would have put Agbon Kingdom on the world map and spur economic activities that should have created employment for our people.

Isiokolo community and Agbon Kingdom lost a great economic and educational development advantage when the Teacher’s Training College at Isiokolo was downgraded and abandoned by the PDP-led government.

Today, our communities including Isiokolo, lack basic socio-economic institutions like functioning banks, hospitals, electricity, and markets to support serious economic activities and facilitate innovation for our youths, women, and deserving citizens.

This may not have been the case if the Teacher’s Training College at Isiokolo was not downgraded. Thus, the PDP and the Okowa administration have been a government of darkness and underdevelopment to the Isiokolo community, Agbon Kingdom, and indeed Delta State.

The PDP’s governorship candidate, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Omo-Agege, are not comparable under any index of performance, education, exposure, public service, or capacity to govern and deliver the necessary socio-economic agenda for the good of Delta State. In contrast, Oborevwori’s promise to double down on the failed policies of the Okowa administration in Isiokolo community and Agbon Kingdom through his M.O.R.E agenda should be rejected by all sons and daughters of Agbon Kingdom.

Agbon Kingdom and all Deltans should reject the appalling decadence in Delta State and vote for the APC at all levels and Senator Omo-Agege as Governor of Delta State. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will correct the economic wrongs done to the Agbon people and restore Isiokolo to its rightful position as a local government headquarter.

A champion of economic development evident in a lifetime of public service, Senator Omo-Agege’s candidacy is a beacon of hope and offers the best opportunity for the economic revolution of Agbon Kingdom and Delta State in general. Unlike Oborevwori who has no record to run on after wasting almost 6 years as Speaker of DTHA, Omo-Agege’s socio-economic agenda and electoral promises are beyond mere words.

Omo-Agege’s agenda is attractive to foreign investments and Deltans in the Diaspora who account for more than 20% of diaspora remittances amounting to billions of dollars and are willing to partner with Omo-Agege to contribute to the development of the State because of the credibility and performance of Omo-Agege as a Senator representing Delta Central at the National Assembly. Over the years, Omo-Agege has built the requisite capacity to back his agenda and build upon his impressive record for the good of the State.

Omo-Agege’s unbeaten record of attracting the most projects to Urhoboland and Delta State by any Senator ever elected since the creation of Delta State, corroborates the promises of his administration for growth and development if elected Governor of Delta State. Omo-Agege’s economic agenda for Agbon Kingdom, Isiokolo community, and Delta State are very realistic. His manifesto immensely underscores his passion and the promise of a new Delta anchored on creating employment, development, good governance, and enduring security built by the people, for the people.
