Some suspected abductors bearing arms have abducted the Managing Director of Fouani Company, which represents LG and Hisense, along with three Lebanese.

The abductors were said to have kidnapped the four persons while they were travelling by boat in Lagos state.

The incident was said to have occurred around Falomo Bridge while the four individuals were travelling from Apapa to Victoria Island on Friday evening.

A source who spoke with the New Diplomat said the abductors have already contacted the families of their victims and demanded ransom.

The source said the abductors demanded $1.5 million.

The source also identified the victims as Abbas fouani, Youssef fouani, Amtal fouani.

The source said: “Yesterday (Friday) evening, the Managing Director of Fouani company (LG and Hisense) and three Lebanese were kidnapped around Falomo Bridge while travelling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat.

“The kidnappers have asked for $1.5m.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has also confirmed the development, saying the police are already on the matter and are trailing the abductors.

He said: “Yes, it is true. We got the report and we are looking into it. Please, I’m not obliged to state more than that.”

However, some retired diplomats have voiced their concern about this latest development as it affects foreign nationals.
