Scores of polling units in the ongoing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections are reportedly experiencing failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), devices.

This has led to frustration as many voters are beginning to leave their respective polling units.

Also, it was gathered that accreditation began a little behind schedule in most of the polling units across the six area councils.

Voting was supposed to commence officially by 8:30 am but as 10:30 am INEC staff and voters were yet to arrive at many polling units.

At polling unit 011 opposite Customs Hospital at Karu, INEC staff were seen setting up their tent two hours after voting was supposed to have commenced.

Meanwhile, a total of 14 political parties are contesting for Chairmanship/Deputy Chairmanship positions across the six area councils of the FCT.
