There is palpable tension in Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno State following about three explosions on Thursday.

It was gathered that at least four persons were killed in the explosion which occurred in three different locations.

According to report, the explosions occurred in Bulumkutu, Ajilari Cross and Ajaye areas of Maiduguri.

Although the cause of the explosion could not be ascertained as of press time, it came few hours before the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state.

Buhari left the Presidential Villa at Abuja about 11am on his way to Maiduguri.
During the visit, Buhari is expected to commission multiple projects embarked upon and completed by the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.

Part of the projects billed to be commissioned is an edifice donated by Mohammed Indimi to the University of Maiduguri.
