Former military governor of old Kano State, Air Vice Marshal Hamza Abdullahi is dead.

According to the Hadejia Emirate’s Twitter handle, the Abdullahi died on Wednesday in Germany.

Abdullahi was the governor of the old Kano state from January 1984 to August 1985 during the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari.

The Emirate tweeted a photo of the Abdullahi and wrote, “Innalillahi wa inna’ilahirraju’un. It is with sadness that we share the news that AVM. Hamza Abdullahi, yesterday died in Germany. We pray Almighty Allah forgive him, grant him maghfira, illuminated his grave, and enter him in to janna and may he forgive us when our time comes.”

Abdullahi is from Jigawa State, which was originally part of Kano State.

Abdullahi was promoted to air vice marshal in October 1988 and retired from the Nigerian Air Force two months later.
