The ongoing negotiations between the Federal Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), might have hit a stumbling block as the latter declares its readiness to embark on a two-day nationwide mass protest.

The NLC president, Comrade Joe Ajaero, announced that the planned mass protest will be held on February 27 and 28.

Speaking at the Labour house headquarters in Abuja, Ajaero noted that the planned protest has become imperative as the federal government refused to implement agreements between the two parties.

The planned protest is coming after Labour, on February 9, had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the federal government to address all its issues and implement agreement reached with its workers in order to ease the economic hardship in the country.

Though the ultimatum is yet to expire, the latest statement of Labour implies nothing much has been done on the part of the government.
