The title race of the England Premier League took a massive turn on Sunday as Arsenal bottled three points and the chance to go top of the table.

Arsenal followed Liverpool by slipping up on their patch as Aston Villa’s win allowed Manchester City to go top of the Premier League.

Late goals from Leon Bailey and Watkins altered the title race further, boosting the chances of Manchester City.

Aston Villa were brilliant in the second half as they dominated and their superiority eventually paid off as substitute Bailey tapped home at the back post before Watkins took advantage of Arsenal’s high line to burst through on goal and finish with aplomb.

The New Diplomat reports Manchester City took advantage of the fact they played first, winning comprehensively against Luton Town, to put the pressure on. Liverpool couldn’t respond as Crystal Palace secured a shock win at Anfield.
