The English Premier League (EPL) on Saturday experienced a massive shake-up as Chelsea who were the league leaders at the beginning of the day slipped to third, with Manchester City overtaking the London club to top the standings.

The 2020/21 EPL season got off to a trilling start with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea looking ready and determine to jostle for the title. Though the season is still in its early days, the three clubs have proven to be the gladiators for the 2021/22 season.

Chelsea who had been topping the EPL standings since match week 5 fell to third position following a shocking 3-2 loss to West Ham on Saturday.

With Chelsea throwing away three points, Liverpool and Manchester City made no mistake as they both bagged all three points to move above the London side.

Liverpool defeated Wolves 1-0 on Saturday. Divock Origi scored a 90th minute goal to ensure that his side take home all the three points.

Similarly, Man City defeated Watford 3-1 at the Vicarage Road with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva (2) finding the back of the net.

Following the results, Man City sits atop of the EPL standings with 35 points while Liverpool moved to second place with 34 points and Chelsea, third place with 33 points.
