The Premier League clash between West Ham United and Liverpool at the London Stadium on Saturday ended in a 2-2 draw, dealing a significant blow to the Red’s faint title aspirations.

Jarrod Bowen broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 43rd minute just before halftime in an otherwise uneventful first period.

However, Liverpool pulled level early in the second half through Andy Robertson’s strike, refusing to go down without a fight.

Despite their efforts, the visitors were unable to find a winner, leaving them trailing the league leaders by a considerable margin with games rapidly running out.

An unfortunate own goal from Alphonse Areola temporarily put Liverpool in the driving seat, but Michail Antonio’s strike in the 77th minute ensured the points were split.

The hard-fought draw leaves Liverpool in third place on the Premier League table with 75 points, trailing defending champions Manchester City by a solitary point.

However, the Citizens hold a significant advantage, boasting two games in hand over their title rivals. With matches dwindling, the result effectively extinguishes the Merseyside club’s already slim hopes of claiming the prestigious championship.
