Liverpool FC has continued its flawless start to the 2025/26 English Premier League season, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over rivals Everton in a Merseyside derby at Anfield.

The win ensured Liverpool maintained their 100% record, solidifying their position at the top of the Premier League table.

The New Diplomat reports that Liverpool took an early lead in the 10th minute when Ryan Gravenberch found the back of the net with a superb strike, after a through-ball from Mohamed Salah set him up.

They doubled the lead in the 29th minute. Hugo Ekitike got the ball from Gravenberch, ran into the box, and slotted it past Jordan Pickford to make it 2-0.

Everton fought back after half-time. In the 58th minute, Idrissa Gueye scored with a curling shot into the net, following a good build-up involving Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish.

However, Liverpool’s defence held on and withheld Everton’s attack as they secured all three points.

This means Liverpool sits on top of the EPL table with 15points.
