Ms. Dabira Adeyinka, one of the lead witnesses who testified before the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters, has narrated how she was threatened hours after Miss Kamsiyochukwu Ibe, a star testifier before the Lagos panel was macheted by some hoodlums, Sunday.
Ibe had in a video recounted how she was cut with a cutlass, at the Sangotedo, Lekki area of Lagos, Sunday evening.
On her own part, Dabira who is also a survivor of the Lekki Tollgate shootings of October 20, 2020 said she had received death threats, telling her she’s the next to be attacked for testifying before the Lagos panel.
This was contained in a picture message seen by The New Diplomat.
Early Monday, a video had surfaced online, showing Ibe as she displayed the wound she sustained from the attack. She said they cut her “like I am a thief.. I thought I would die at that bus stop.”
Further recounting her ordeal, the Lekki shooting witness said she was attacked by some unknown men at a bus stop in Lagos. She said she initially thought they were passers-by until one of them shone his torch on her and started macheting her.
After Ibe’s trending video, Dabira has also shared a threat message she received, showing her picture while testifying before the Lagos panel.
“You’re next!!! Game on” an inscription read in the threat message written on a paper.
Meanwhile, in the video Ibe had said: “Last night I was attacked on my way back home by three guys whom I thought were passers-by. But as I was standing at the bus stop waiting for a vehicle, only for one of them to shine light on my face and said: ‘is that not the girl from panel?, saying if dem kill me make I see as I go take continue dey agitate for justice.’
“Na hin I tell Dem say I no know wetin dem dey talk. They started hitting me, see all my body, see my back, see my hand, they started cutting me see my leg… like I am a thief. I survived by the grace of God because I thought I would die at that bus stop. This is what they did to me.”
This is coming hours after Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, had raised alarmed over an alleged attempt by some forces to take his life for his role in the recently submitted report of the Lagos #ENDSARS Panel.
The lawyer also said that a major testifier during the sitting of the panel, Miss Kamsiyochukwu Ibe, was macheted by some hoodlums on Sunday.
