A former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sparked strong speculations that he might be joining the Labour Party (LP) following his visit to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.
In a post via X on Monday, April 29, Ihedioha, who was a Governor of Imo State for seven months, shared pictures of his visit to the Government House, Umuahia, capital city of Abia.
“Delighted to have met with my esteemed brother and friend, Governor @alexottiofr, at his residence in Isialangwa. We had a convivial discussion, even as I commend his giant strides in Abia State,” the ex-Reps deputy speaker said.
_The New Diplomat_ reports that Ihedioha had resigned his membership from the PDP in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in Mbutu ward, Aboh Mbaise local hovernment area of the state.
He cited a misalignment between his personal beliefs and the current trajectory of the main opposition party.
Following the announcement, many political analysts have been left to speculate about the next party Ihedioha might join.
Some analysts opined that Ihedioha might either join the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) or Labour Party.
Ihedioha’s reported cold war with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, might have ended the hope that he would join the party.
