Tech billionaire Elon Musk has threatened to sue former US Rep. Jamaal Bowman for labelling him a ‘Nazi’ and a ‘thief’.
Musk made this threat following reports by Fox News that Bowman had during a recent TV appearance on CNN, made unprintable comments about the world’s richest man.
According to the report, Bowman told a panel of commentators that the “American people do not trust Elon Musk and Elon Musk is incompetent in his position.”
“How do we know? Because they fired tens of thousands of people, was challenged in court. The court said the people have to go back, and now the people are coming back,” Bowman told CNN.
“He’s incompetent. He’s a thief. He’s a Nazi. And people don’t trust him,” Bowman claimed of Musk.
But in a statement wrote on his X handle on Saturday, Musk said, “I’ve had enough. Lawsuit inbound,”
Basically, a Nazi is a member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, which controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945 under Adolf Hitler and advocated totalitarian government, territorial expansion, antisemitism, and Aryan supremacy, all these leading directly to World War II and the Holocaust.
But the word’s meaning has been extended to cover a person who is fanatically dedicated to or seeks to regulate a specified activity, practice.
Bowman’s word may have been used in the second context, considering handling of issues in the Trump’s administration, which is considered offensive.
The New Diplomat had reported how President Donald Trump appointed Musk to head his newly created Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE.
The tech billionaire has recently come under serious criticism by top Democrats.
Democrats accuse Musk of leading an inappropriate change from within the government by amassing unaccountable and illegal power.
