An APC-based pressure group, the Core APC Forum, comprising of ex-presidential, ex-governorship, ex-national and ex-House of Assembly aspirants has called on the National Working Committee of the party to halt any contemplated move by the national chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole to sanction, suspend or expel some major stakeholders of the party from different geopolitical zones of the country.

Addressing a press conference in Warri today, the National Leader of the Forum and ex-presidential aspirant, Alh. Mumakai Unagha, alleged that Forum is inundated with reliable information that 4the national chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, is currently compiling names of some stakeholders of the party for sanctions which may include suspension or outright expulsion.

According to Unagha, mostly affected by the national chairman’s clandestine move are major stakeholders from Delta State, adding that such move would not only be counter-productive to the growth of the party but inimical to sustainable democratic process.

He said, “Information reaching us within the corridor of the National Secretariat of the All

Progressive Congress suggests the National Chairman of the party Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is compiling names of major stake holders of the party to be suspended or expelled.

“The growing speculation also suggested that those to be suspended are drawn from the six geopolitical zones with the bulk from Delta State.”

The Forum further alleged that the ongoing move by the national chairman of the party is solely based on a frame up by political blackmailers who especially those who lost as candidates of the party in the recent elections.

“The people are being framed up by political blackmailers especially those who lost both their Governorship, National and State Assemblies Elections”, Unagha alleged, adding that the Forum also has it on good authority that the national chairman who is singlehandedly making the move, is also after those who peacefully approached the court for justice following the shabby manner the party’s congresses and primaries were handled.

Said he: “We have been reliably informed that the National Chairman is also desirous of sanctioning those that went to court and tribunal simply because they are contesting their wrong exclusion and imposition of candidates.”

The Forum also attributed the failure of the party in most states of the country to “the singular action of the National Chairman”, calling on him to “be a true democrat rather than taking decision that will affect the fortune of the party negatively.”

It further urged the national chairman to allow those aggrieved and chose to seek justice in the court to do so “without intimidation or threat of suspension or expulsion.”

“APC as a party may not have found itself in this mess, if the National Chairman plague the party had allowed free, fair and just atmosphere during the state congresses which spilled over to the party primary elections”, the Forum opined.

“We therefore advised the chairman for the interest of the party to jettison such move”, the Forum concluded.
