The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose had said he will not welcome President Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage to the his on June 10.

The President was billed to be in Ekiti on Tuesday for a grand rally to canvass vote for the candidate of All Progressives Congress in the coming Guber poll in the state, Kayode Fayemi and had earlier sent a letter to Fayose in that regard.

Speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rally in Ado Ekiti, Thursday, the outgoing governor alleged that the Buhari’s government displayed its undemocratic stance by closing down the Akure airport, despite the importance of the airport to PDP members who will be moving in and out of Ekiti State.

According to Fayose, “I am not going to receive the president. If they think that they can use the police to intimidate us, it is a lie.

“This government is undemocratic, why did they close Akure Airport yesterday, when they knew that we would be receiving our party members.

“They have been arresting members of the PDP, but we will not be provoked. We will disgrace all of them on June 14.”

Meanwhile, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its current crisis.

He said the ruling party symbolised by the broom has “broken into two”.

While addressing a crowd at the flag presentation rally for Kolapo Olusola, PDP’s governorship candidate in the July 14 election in Ekiti, Secondus urged voters to reject Kayode Fayemi, APC candidate, whom he said was unsure of the faction he belonged.

“APC is broken into two.

“Can you ask Fayemi under which of the factions is he contesting? Because the broom has scattered, the broom has broken,” he said.
