A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second terms, respectively.

Speaking at a political rally in Ado-Ekiti on July 28, 2025, Fayose, a prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, emphasized that his support transcends party lines, citing the leadership qualities and achievements of both leaders as the basis for his endorsement.

Fayose, addressing a large gathering of political leaders and supporters, declared, “I hereby endorse publicly, without reservation, President Bola Tinubu for a second term. I also endorse our governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and his deputy for a second term.”

This is coming as all major political leaders in Ekiti state have endorsed the governor for a second term. These gladiators who are behind Oyebanji include former governors Kayode Fayemi, Niyi Adebayo, Senator Dayo Adeyeye and Senator Femi Ojudu.

Fayose clarified that his endorsement was driven by performance rather than party loyalty. “I am not a member of the APC and will never be, but I have seen the good work. I commend Governor Oyebanji’s humility and leadership. He deserves another term,” he stated.

Fayose also praised Tinubu’s understanding of Nigerian politics, predicting a strong chance of re-election in 2027 due to his leadership acumen.

Recalling his political victories in Ekiti State, Fayose boasted about his previous electoral records, noting that he won across all 16 local government areas and 177 wards of the state.

He challenged Oyebanji to match that feat in future elections, describing it as a new benchmark.

“Who will, for the first time again, become the record holder to win in all 16 local governments and all 177 wards of Ekiti? That is taken for granted. But when we get to the field, we will contest,” Fayose added.
