Eintracht Frankfurt won their first European trophy since 1980, beating Rangers on penalties after a gruelling 1-1 draw in Seville.
The Colombian forward Rafael Borre equalised in normal time and then scored the winning penalty to spark delirious celebrations.
Joe Aribo had given Rangers the lead with a cool finish in the 57th minute after a slip from Tuta, but Borre equalised 12 minutes later from Filip Kostic’s cross.
Kevin Trapp made a stunning point-blank save from Ryan Kent in the dying minutes of extra-time and then kept out a poor penalty from the substitute Aaron Ramsey in the subsequent shootout.
That allowed Borre to smash an emphatic winning kick past Allan McGregor and break Rangers’ hearts.
