The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) authority has announced next Friday as Eid Al – Adha day.

The announcement followed the sighting on Tuesday, of the new crescent moon of Dhu Al Hijjah – the 12th month of the Lunar calendar, in the country.

Following this, KSA authority declared next Friday, June 6, 2025, as the Sallah day, affirming that Wednesday, May 28, 2025 is the first day of the new month of Dhu Al Hijjah.

The New Diplomat reports that the declaration also confirmed that the day of Arafat is Thursday, June 5, while Friday, June 6 will be the day of Eid Al Adha celebration.

Muslims perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage during the Islamic month of Dhu Al Hijjah, which culminates in celebrating Eid Al Adha on the 10th day of Hajj rites.

Eid Al Adha or the ā€˜Feast of Sacrifice, is celebrated throughout the Muslim world, as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail to fulfill his earlier promise to Allah.

The festival traditionally falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah.
