- APC Will Win 18 LGAs, Says Ize-Iyamu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially flagged off its campaign for the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Saturday.
The die has been cast as Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu, APC flagbearer is set to take on incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the poll in less than six weeks.

The rally at the Sports Complex of University of Benin, was attended by party chieftains within and outside the state as supporters packed the venue.
The Chairman Caretaker Committee of the APC, and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni admonished party faithfuls to discourage violence but campaign and win the election for the party.
In his remarks he said, “We are here to present to you our candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, we are here to take back our mandate, to take back our state.
“We are here to admonish you not to be violent throughout the campaigns and the election because victory is ours. We are here and not to fight but we must ensure that every vote must count,” Buni said.

At the rally, APC candidate, Ize Iyamu, was presented with the party flag and broom.
Speaking at the event, Ize-Iyamu assured party leaders and followers that with the huge crowd that graced the event, the APC is the party to beat at the poll.
“I want to assure you that in this election, we will not only win, we will win the eighteen local government areas”, says Ize-Iyamu.

The immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Leader of the APC South-South caucus and Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; and Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi were among the creme de la creme of the ruling party at the campaign flag-off.
Also, twelve Governors of the APC graced the occasion.
The Governors include Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), the APC Caretaker Chairman; Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna); Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); Dapo Abiodun (Ogun); Gboyega Oyetola (Osun); Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa); Hope Uzodinma (Imo); Abubakar Bello (Bauchi), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).
Earlier, the party leaders had visited the palace of the Oba of Benin where they were received by His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II who called for a peaceful election.
