The incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has won his polling unit for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo.

The New Diplomat reports that Ighodalo garnered 127 votes at the polling unit PU19, Ward 04, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

He defeated the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo who got 35 votes in the polling unit.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Olumide Akpata got 11.
