Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki said he will deal with thugs that may be used to cause mayhem during the upcoming September 19 Edo governorship elections.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, spoke at a ward- Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area of the state during his campaign tour in the area.

Obaseki said although he had received intelligence report to suspend his campaign in Opoji, he decided not to succumb to threats.

“While I urge PDP members and supporters not to succumb to threats. We will tame the lions and tigers in Edo with relevant laws of our country,” he said.

Obaseki said he would provide adequate security on election day.

He also promised the people to ensure the completion of the Opoji-Irrua road and also attract more development to the area if re-elected.

Recall that the All Progressive Congress (APC) had accused Governor Obaseki of importing armed thugs into the state for his campaign tours and ahead of the election day but his media aide, Mr Crusoe Osagie had denied the allegation, saying the report was false.
