Ahead of the forthcoming Council polls in Edo State, a group, North Ivie Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Consultative Forum has canvassed for the zoning of the Chairmanship position of the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State to North Ivie.

According to a joint statement issued on Thursday in Imiegba and made available to journalists in Benin City by Ibrahim Aliyu (Ward Nine) and Daniel Masagbor (Ward Ten), the forum noted that for equity, fairness, and justice the North Ivie Zone, the hometown of Channels TV chief executive officer, Mr. John Momoh should be allowed to produce the incoming chairman of the council.

Incumbent Senator Francis Alimikhena, Minister of State for Budget, Prince Clem Agba, and the commissioner representing the northern Edo State local government area are all from the Weppa Wano axis.

After a close look at the political reality in Etsako East Local Government as it affects the North Ivie people, Aliyu and Masagbor threw the forum’s weight behind a female unionist, Comrade Rabi Mary Egujie as the chairmanship candidate for Etsako East Local Government.

They gave reasons for endorsing Eguje, saying that she has been fully accepted by the leaders across the divide in the local government area.

They added: “The Forum will work with any candidate presented by Okpella Zone for the House of Assembly slot and will embark on mass mobilization across the local government for the actualization of the candidacy of the female politician.
