  • Awaits INEC’s Announcement

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Situation Room has gone into a frenzy as soon as its governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, secured 56 per cent of the collated votes in Saturday’s poll.

Collated results showed that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Asue Ighodalo, is trailing Okpebholo having garnered over 30 per cent of the votes.

The situation room is already in a celebratory mood and the video of the celebrations galore is trending fast on social media like the wild bush fire during the harmattan season.

But the APC situation room has been very careful not to announce or release the figures garnered in each local government.

The national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was sighted in the situation room.

It is the duty of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to formally announce the result of the poll.

This will be done on Sunday morning in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
