Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been chosen to head Nigeria’s ruling party, All Progressive Congress’ APC high powered campaign council for the Edo State governorship election.

He heads a 49-member committee for the campaign in Edo State which includes Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma as Deputy Chairman and Hon. Abbas Braimoh as secretary.

Other members of the council include Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, Governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, former National Chairmen of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole and John Odigie-Oyegun amongst others.

This followed the approval for the constitution of a National Campaign Council for the 19th September 2020 Governorship Election, by the National Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni.

The campaign council will be inaugurated on Monday, 6th July 2020 at the Party’s National Secretariat.

The APC’s candidate in the September 19 governorship election in Edo is Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a pastor who decamped from the main opposition party, PDP.

He will head into the contest against incumbent governor Godwin Obaseki who decamped from the APC to the PDP.
