Senator Ede Dafinone, the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State in the Senate, has felicitated with a former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori and an elder statesman and a former Minister of Information and Culture, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire as they celebrate their respective birthdays.

In separate statements, the federal lawmaker eulogized Ibori and Oyovbaire, who marked their 66th and 83rd birthdays, respectively.

Dafinone in the statement celebrated Ibori for significantly impacting the broader Delta State community, inspiring many to pursue excellence and service in leadership

The statement reads in part: “On this auspicious occasion of your 66th birthday anniversary, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you. Your leadership and dedication to the development of Delta State and the Urhobo people have not gone unnoticed. As a distinguished political leader and former Governor, your visionary initiatives from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007, laid the foundation for numerous socio-economic advancements that continue to benefit our dear communities and people.

“As you celebrate this milestone, it is my sincere hope that you reflect with pride on the profound impact you have made and continue to make in our beloved Delta State. May this year bring you abundant joy, good health, and renewed strength to continue your invaluable service to our people and nation. Happy 66th Birthday, Chief Ibori.”

In another statement devoted to celebrating Oyovbaire, Dafinone described the former minister as a renowned scholar who left indelible marks on public service.

Dafinone, in the statement, said: “Today, I join countless admirers and the entire Delta Central Senatorial District in celebrating an iconic figure and distinguished elder statesman, Okakuro Professor Sam Ejite Oyovbaire, on the occasion of his 83rd birthday.

“Professor Oyovbaire is a renowned scholar whose contributions to academia and public service have left indelible marks on our nation. As a former Minister of Information and Culture, he served with integrity and dedication, enriching our cultural heritage and advancing the course of national development.”

The New Diplomat reports that Oyovbaire is a consummate politician, eminent scholar, a prominent chief of the Okpe Kingdom, and the eldest man of the Opuraja Community in Okpe, whose leadership style has helped to stabilize the community.
