The Directorate of State Service (DSS) in Edo has denied invading the residence or arresting anyone associated with Mr Taiwo Akerele, the immediate past  Chief of Staff (CoS) to Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo.

Mr Sheikh Waziri, DSS Director in Edo, was quoted as telling the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Monday, that no operative of the service invaded the residence of Akerele on Sunday.

Recall that there have been media reports emanating from Benin city that operatives of the DSS had arrested one Jaspa Olowojoba, a Personal Assistant to Akerele, when the operatives could not find him.

But in a refutal, the DSS Director in Edo State, Waziri said: “I have verified and confirmed that the DSS Edo has not invaded the residence nor arrested anyone associated with the former CoS.”

Recall also that Mr Taiwo Akerele, the  immediate past  CoS  to Governor Obaseki had on Saturday resigned his appointment, and he was immediately replaced with Mr Osaze Uzamure, son of Senator Uzamure.
