Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aisha Ahmad.

Details revealed that Ahmad was arrested over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of shares in Polaris Bank, Titan Trust Bank and Union Bank.

Her arrest also borders how the sum of $300 million raised to complete the acquisition of Union Bank was raised by Titan Bank.

TheNewDiplomat recalls that on Wednesday three of the banks board were dissolved following the recommendations of the Special Investigator on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and related entities, Jim Obazee.
