Following the shocking announcement of Godwin Emefiele’s suspension, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN governor was on Saturday, spotted in the company of the Department of State Security Service, DSS officials at an undisclosed airport.

It would be recalled that a statement from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Friday announced that President Bola Tinubu has suspended the CBN Governor from office with immediate effect.

 

The release stated that this was sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.

The President however directed Mr. Emefiele to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operation Directorate), pending the conclusion of investigations and the reforms.
