Aliyu Audu, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, has resigned from his position.
Audu announced his resignation in a letter dated June 8. Audu wrote: “I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately.
I thanked the President for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership.”
He also praised former presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, whose recommendation led to his appointed on August 26, 2023.
“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.
“Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation.”
The resignation, announced on June 8, 2025, adds to a list of high-profile appointees who have have taken their exits from the Tinubu’s administration.
Recall that Ngelale, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, had stepped down in September 2024, citing personal and health reasons.
Also, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, special adviser on political matters to Vice-President Kashim Shettima, resigned from his role in April 2025.
