Elon Musk, the billionaire Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesla and SpaceX, has publicly expressed regret over some of his criticisms of United States President Donald Trump.

Musk, who recently stepped down from his role in the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), also admitted that some of his criticisms “went too far”.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on his social media platform X.

The New Diplomat reports that this comes after Musk and Trump fell out. Musk had last week, took to his social media accounts to criticise Trump’s “big, beautiful” spending bill, which is currently before Congress.

Musk described the spending bill as an “abomination” that, if passed by Congress, could define Trump’s second term in office.

The billionaire also alleged that Trump was featured in unreleased government files on former associates of Epstein, who died of suicide in 2019 while he faced sex trafficking charges.
