The many scandals that continue to dig the rugged path of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele is far from being over as a federal lawmaker, representing Roni Gwiwa, Yankwashi constituency in Jigawa state, Muhammad Gudaji Kazaure opened a can of worms, alleging that the members of the Lower Chambers were bribed with a whooping sum of #1billion to allow the free passage of the CBN’s #2.4trillion 2023 budget.
The Lawmaker who alleged that Emefiele’s failed attempts to defend the CBN’s budget, necessitated the bribe that made each member of the House #10million richer, also alleged that the CBN Governor had used the humongous amount of money at his disposal to buy the interest of members of the National Assembly and other personalities in Nigeria in order to cover his tracks.
Opinions were divided over the spurious allegations against Emefiele as a reaction pool monitored by The New diplomat showed that a cross section of Nigerians believed that the allegations were mare political stunt meant to hoodwink the CBN Governor into a fresh corruption scandal for his obnoxious monetary policy that tightened the nose of politicians.
Conversely , others expressed optimism that Godwin Emefiele is guilty as charged.

The SSS should go after Kazaure to explain further the corruption allegations against the National Assembly and the CBN at this time of our national politics when the President pledges to wipe out corruption in the nation. This allegation does not just make a mockery of the President’s determination but makes Nigeria a laughing stock in the committee of nations.
Tinuoye Adeniyi:
Mr. President was talking politics then. He never meant any letter of the word “CORRUPTION”. Forget it. Since 1999 to date, no government that is as corrupt as this government. You have not heard anything yet. Just let this government wound down in May, you will hear many ugly things. God save this country.
Oscar Udeze:
Nigerians do not be deceived by the antics of these conscienceless desperate politicians. I have no doubt that this may end up to be one of their desperate ploy to force the CBN Governor out of office because the currency redesign and Cash withdrawal limit the CBN introduced, has thrown them into dilemma as to what to do with the loot they starched with which they intend to buy INEC, security personnel, voters and manipulate the electoral process. The policy is hitting them below the belt. Therefore, they resort to campaign of calumny against the CBN Governor.
Peter Tuoyo;
The first thing is to ask whether he did it or not and to bring in sentiment.
Manu Martinez:
Then is it today he feels like exposing it? All these are mare propaganda to blackmail the CBN Governor because they can’t have access to money for the election.
Ayiyesuibote,;
He collected the money and kept quiet only to come and say it now. Collection of bribe is also a crime
Ene Akpan;
Does delay or failure to come out make the issue raised invalid.
Towncrier:
Buhari got everything wrong.
Olalekan Ogedengbe;
Did Buhari commit any crime by appointing Emefiele CBN Governor?
Amara Emeka:
I’m feeling sorry for this country. Can you imagine how much has been stolen from this country by civil servants and politicians
