Fresh facts are beginning to emerge over the abrupt end of the All Progressives Congress, APC Bauchi mega rally that left President Muhammadu Buhari, the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and horde of supporters across the northeast state who besieged the campaign venue embarrassed as party faithful and Nigerians disagree over the immediate and remote causes of the power outage.

It was widely reported that the rally which was aimed at projecting the potentials of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and its state Governorship candidate, Ambassador Saddique Abubakar ended in fiasco following failed attempts by the technical crew to rectify the instantaneous breakdown of communication gadgets that left President Buhari, the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahu Adamu and Tinubu unable to address the mammoth crowd.

Checks by The New diplomat showed that opinions were divided over the attendant aftermath of the ugly incidence as a fraction of party supporters believed that, it was an orchestrated political ploy to sabotage the campaign rally just as Nigerians at the other side of the divide, blamed the planning committee and technical crew for a shoddy job.

*Reuben* *Abati* *of* *Arise* *TV* :
This is political season. People are bound to make all sorts of statements in this regard. It may not be the fault of the party, APC, because such projects are contracted out to consultants to handle. So, whoever they are, they must be made to face the music. The embarrassment was not only suffered by APC members but it ridiculed the Nigeria’s President before the world. Besides, the reportage may have been exaggerated. Don’t forget the President had a crucial function in Lagos that same day. That may have led to leaving the campaign venue in hurry to meet up with his appointment in Lagos. It was reported that the President Buhari was flown to Lagos afterwards.

*Tanko* *Lokoja* : It shows the weakness of the APC. If they cannot plan common rally, how can they fix Nigeria? It’s a big shame. we cannot continue to pretend that all is well and choose to look the other way when things are going wrong.

*Rufai* *Oseni* , *Arise* TV:
It’s indeed sad there was power outage at the Tafa Balewa stadium venue of the APC mega rally. At least for once, they had a dose of what Nigerians go through on daily basis. Certainly, the President doesn’t know the hardships Nigerians suffer everyday. Today, the President is in Lagos and he is being driven around from one point to the other on helicopter. I wish he would travel to Imota at Ikorodu on road at least to have a first hand experience of what Lagos traffic is all about. However, the handlers must be held accountable for the embarrassment.

*Sadiku* *Kaduna* :
That’s the costly price we have paid as a nation for voting APC to power. They, APC led administration has plunged Nigeria into eight years of darkness.

*Ochuko* *Delta* :
There’s more than meet the eye. The party should inaugurate an investigative committee to ascertain if this ugly development wasn’t politically motivated. These days in our new democratic experience, campaigns have gone dirty as politicians are hell bent to win this year’s elections at all costs irrespective of whose ox is gored.
