What Will They Eat When They Finish The Money? By Azu Ishiekwene

The grave is never satisfied, but other things compete with it for insatiability. I can’t help feeling that some members of Nigeria’s National Assembly will vie for the top place of never enough with the grave, water and fire. Enough is a stranger to them. What happens in these chambers in Abuja, in the name…

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ,( APC), and a former National Publicity Secretary of a break-away PDP faction, New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has cried out that detractors are trying to sow a seed of discord between Transportation Minister, Chief Rotimi Amaechi and  Political leaders of the South South geo-political zone.

According to Eze, the clarification became necessary following a report allegedly credited Hon. Godstime Orlukwu, a former Caretaker Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State who is an ardent supporter of the Transportation Minister. According to the statement reportedly credited to Orlukwu, the following political leaders of South South geo-political zone, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and  Minister of  Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godswill Akpabio are political enemies of Amaechi.

Chief Eze, in a statement issued at the weekend, condemned the propagators of the false report, stressing that it has nothing to do with Orlukwu, describing it as fictitious, a cocktail of lies, and emanating from men of the underworld.

He said: “I just spoke with my brother and political leader, Dr. Godstime Orlukwu on a false statement credited to him alleging that some of the colleagues and political associates of Amaechi are his enemies.

”The mischievous, malicious, and wicked statement is aimed at sowing seeds of discord between DSP Senator  Omo-Agege, Minister Sylva,  Comrade Oshiomhole, Chief  Akpabio, etc.

”From what I gathered from him, he never granted any interview to any journalist or authorized such an ungodly statement to be issued by anybody on his behalf insinuating that such good friends of his boss are his enemies or that the Minister is against any appointment offered to anybody”.

Eze advised the public to discountenance such a fallacious report describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers targeted at smearing the  image of the Transportation Minister.

“As we investigate the source of this wicked report and those behind it, let me reiterate that those who want to create enemies for the Honourable Minister of Transportation for their wicked political gains will not succeed,” Eze said.
