The Federal Government of Nigeria has reportedly listed two presidential jets for sale in Switzerland.

The aircraft, part of the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF), includes a Boeing 737-700 Business Jet (BBJ) acquired in 2005 during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to reports, the Boeing 737-700 BBJ, with tail number 5N-FGT, is reportedly being marketed through AMAC Aerospace framework in Basel, Switzerland.

According to the information on AMAC Aerospace, the aircraft listed for sale is designed to accommodate 33 passengers along with 8 crew members, featuring a thoughtfully arranged 5-zone seating layout.

Zone 1 is designated for crew rest, providing two dedicated crew rest seats and two seats for cabin attendants.

Zone 2 offers a luxurious VIP stateroom complete with a bed, a two-place divan, and a private lavatory for enhanced comfort.

In Zone 3, a VIP lounge is configured as a four-seat conference room, perfect for meetings or private discussions.

Zone 4 includes nine forward-facing first-class seats, ensuring a premium travel experience, while Zone 5 is equipped with eighteen forward-facing business-class seats, catering for a range of passenger needs.

Originally purchased for $43 million in 2005, the 20-year-old jet has reportedly undergone recent inspections and maintenance to prepare it for sale.

The jet is part of the PAF’s roster, which includes approximately 10 aircraft, such as a Gulfstream G550, a Gulfstream G500, two Falcon 7Xs, a Hawker 4000, and a Challenger 605, alongside rotary-wing assets like two Agusta 139s and two Agusta 101s.

The reported decision to put the Presidential Jet sale also comes months after Tinubu acquired the Airbus A330-200 (tail number 5N-FGA) in August 2024, a move that triggered massive uproar with many Nigerians wondering why it was a priority to acquire a new Presidential Jet amid Nigeria’s economic challenges.
