Mr Osarodion Ogie, the Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG), has officially resigned from his current position as he sets his sights on the deputy governorship seat under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).

Ogie, who tendered his resignation on Friday, has been nominated as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the upcoming September 21 election.

He announced his decision in a statement issued to the press.

According to him, his resignation was in tandem with the Electoral Law which requires political appointees to resign 30 days before an election.

“It is in fulfilment of this requirement that I had to resign to face my deputy governorship ambition in the forthcoming election,” he said.

Ogie was the Principal Partner, Osarodion Ogie & Co.

He was also the Chief of Staff to Oshiomohle in 2008 and later appointed Commissioner for Works from 2012 to 2016 when he became SSG to Obaseki, a position he held until his resignation.
