Nigerians have continued to express mixed feelings as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, signed the student loan bill passed by the National Assembly into law.

The new law empowers the Federal Government, FG, to establish an Education Bank which would approve loans to indigent Nigerian students.

The bill which was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly in November 2022 was sponsored by the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Nigerians took to their Twitter handle to react to President Tinubu’s accent to the bill.

He’s working so hard to legitimize the stolen mandate using propaganda. Student loan in a country with about 41% unemployment rate, and some people will fall for this deceit. Like how are the students supposed to pay back the loans after graduation with no jobs out there for them
