Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Delta State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced Sir Monday John Onyeme as the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori.

This was disclosed in a statement by the State Publicity Secretary Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza in Asaba.

Born on March 30th, 1965, at Ibabu, Onicha-Ukwuani, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state, Onyeme is the executive chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR).

According to the statement, the deputy governorship candidate attended Army Children’s School, Sokoto State before proceeding to Government Secondary School, Gummi in Kebbi State, Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State and the University of Calabar, Cross River State, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Upper), in Accountancy.

He also has a Certificate in Information and Communication Technology, and a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Business Management from the Northumbria University in Newcastle, United Kingdom and is currently a doctor of philosophy candidate in Accountancy.

Sounding upbeat, Osuoza added that with the choice of Onyeme, the party is now fully ready for the electoral battle in 2023.
