The Delta state Government has assured prospective investors that it would continue to keep the state green and conducive for businesses to thrive.

The state deputy governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro gave the assurance after a guided tour of the multi-billion naira Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas gathering plant/project at Ogbeani-Kwale being constructed by Sterling Energy and Exploration Production Limited (SEEPCO).

Senior Special Assistant on Press and Communication to the deputy governor, Mr. Bulou Kosin, in a statement on Monday, said that Otuaro gave the assurance in response to an earlier complimentary remarks by the Vice President of SEEPCO Ltd, Mr. Sandeep Singh.Gas project

Singh had earlier commended the Delta State Government for providing conducive environment for the siting and construction of the multi-billion naira LPG project.

The project, employing latest technology in the industry, will source natural gas from OML143 and is expected to deliver about 700,000 cubic metric tones of gas daily.

According to Singh, “the project has ninety five input from local content including laying of one hundred kilometres of pipeline to the plant while the others which are highly technical were fabricated from USA, UK, India and Germany.”

He said that the plant would have a one thousand megawatts independent power plant that will feed Asaba and environs.

Otuaro, in the statement said, “Aside from the Ministry of Oil and Gas led by the Commissioner, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, the Delta State Government has several institutions for building and sustenance of peace.

“I can assure you that Delta State will be green for investors and I want to seize this opportunity to invite investors in Science and Technology, Solid Minerals, Agriculture among others to see Delta State as investors’ destination.

“I thank SEEPCO Ltd for siting this project in Delta State to harness the rich gas reserve in the state. The positive multiplier effect of this project to the local and national economy cannot be over emphasized.

“I thank the Ogbeani-Kwale community for cooperating with peace moves of government. We look forward to stronger bonding and partnership for our common good”, the Deputy Governor said.

As a way of promoting peace, Otuaro also advised investors coming into the state “to ensure that Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the communities be witnessed by the state government”.
