Delta 2023: Eagle Lands As Omo-Agege Declares Governorship Interest Thursday!

It has been months upon months of speculations, anxiety and, indeed, high expectations, following the Deputy President of Senate’s declaration in Ughelli Kingdom Hall about one and half years ago that ‘Agege Is Coming’

The enigmatic and charismatic Senator had sent millions of Deltans guessing where he is coming from and where he is going. But all that have been put to rest by tomorrow’s Mother of all Declaration for the Governorship race of the State on the platform of the APC by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the DSP on Media And Publicity, Mr. Yomi Odunuga, it noted that the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is set to declare interest in contesting for governorship of the state in the 2023 General elections.

According to the statement, already, numerous communities which have benefitted from Senator Omo-Agege’s development initiatives in Delta State have mobilized for participation in the formal declaration ceremony at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources in Effurun on Thursday, April 14.

It also indicated that top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from other parts of the country were set to storm Delta State to identify with the Obarisi of Urhoboland who has steadfastly promoted the party’s development agenda in the Senate.

Others expected at the event include the DSP’s loyalists, well-meaning citizens across various political divides, as well as friends of the state are expected to attend the declaration ceremonies.

“Senator Omo-Agege’s governorship campaign message will be basically based on the ‘Edge Agenda’ which focuses primarily on employment and empowerment, development, good governance and enduring security.

“As most Deltans are aware, it is a continuation and expansion of Senator Omo-Agege’s development focus in the much-applauded populist representation of his Senatorial constituency.

“During his tenure in the nation’s fifth highest political position, Senator Omo-Agege has sponsored over 25 impactful bills and completed over 300 constituency projects, some of which include:

It would also be recalled that the Deputy President of Senate, Omo-Agege has to his credit over 130 projects in Delta state, as a Senator.
